What the law asks of landlords
In England, the Electrical Safety Standards in the Private Rented Sector (England) Regulations 2020 require landlords to have the electrical installation inspected and tested by a qualified person at least every five years, give a copy of the report to tenants, and complete any required remedial work within 28 days or sooner if the report says so.
This is a summary, not legal advice. Check the current guidance on gov.uk for your circumstances.
